TEMP MAT is a mechanically bonded glass fiber insulating blanket in grades of 1/4”, 1/2” and 1” for applications up to 650°C (1200°F). Manufactured entirely of long textile glass fibers. TEMP MAT insulation blankets assure insulation efficiency during extended exposure of elevated temperatures.

TEMP MAT insulation blankets are used for removable pads, ship turbines, piping, muffler insulation, power generating equipment, industrial ovens, etc.

Teflon cloth applications

Teflon fabric is a fiberglass fabric that has been coated or impregnated with a polytetrafluorethylene (PTFE), Teflon. Teflon/fiberglass cloth offers the superior mechanical properties of a woven fabric combined with the chemical resistance of a fluoropolymer. The fluoropolymer adds extended life, abrasion, puncture, tear, and chemical resistance. Teflon coated fabric offers superior impact and wear resistance, low sliding friction, and chemical resistance to virtually all chemicals and solvents due to the PTFE coating. Common applications for Teflon/fiberglass cloth include removable insulation blankets, flange covers, and freeze protection.

What is Temp Mat

TEMP MAT is manufactured to conform with the requirements of Military Specification MIL-1-16411 Type II, ASTM-C-1086-96 and Coast Guard Specification for Incombustible Materials #164.009 and MIL-I-24244. TEMP MAT is a fiberglass mat composed of 100% “E” type glass fibers 9-13 microns ln diameter which are put into web form and mechanically needles together without chemical binders. TEMP MAT is an effective low-cost replacement for asbestos mats, millboard, ceramic or refractory fiber paper, mat and sheets and mineral fiber boards. It is used as a thermal insulation and gasket material in home and industrial furnaces, package boilers and for special piping applications where heat resistance, flexibility and low special air and liquid chemical and thermal resistance are mandatory.
