Not your every day knitting

Our stainless steel knitted wire mesh for removable and reusable insulation is designed for fabricating removable and reusable insulation blankets.  Due to its flexible composition our wire mesh retains and protects while conforming to highly irregular surfaces.  This allows our mesh to withstand the stresses of repeated installations, vibration, buffeting moisture, corrosion, and temperature extremes. As a result, our mesh is an excellent choice for aerospace, commercial, industrial and marine pad construction.

All you need to know about Silicone PTFE fabrics

Silicone and PTFE fabrics withstand high temperatures, chemicals, and moisture. Silicone is a rubbery, abrasion resistant coating available in grey. Silicone fabrics provide better UV, water and abrasion resistance than PTFE fabrics. PTFE is a smooth, non-reactive coating commonly known by the brand name Teflon. PTFE fabrics are ideal for applications where added toughness and chemical resistance are required. Silicone and PTFE fabrics are commonly used as the outer layer of insulation blankets to protect from moisture and the outdoor environment. These high temperature fabrics are also frequently used in fire blankets or welding curtains that protect workers and equipment from heat and fire. Silicone and PTFE fabrics offer superior resistance to chemicals, abrasion, moisture, and heat. Silicone fabric can withstand operating temperatures up to 500°F and PTFE fabric can withstand temperatures up to 575°F.  Both Silicone and PTFE feature a fiberglass cloth base beneath the high temperature coating. The fiberglass cloth can with stand temperatures up to 1000°F, even if the Silicone or PTFE coating burns off.

Common Applications:

  • Insulating jacketing
  • Welding curtains
  • Blankets and covers for equipment protection

Teflon fiberglass cloth is all you need

Fiberglass temp mat, durable and heat resistant

Fiberglass needle mat is made of 100% glass fiber grade “E”. Withstands temperatures up to 650℃. Accurately chopped fiber length, mechanically bonded by needle punch processing with no additional binders to ensure the high efficiency heat insulation and excellent sound absorption during different applications. The standard thickness needled mat is from 1/4” to 1”. The fiberglass needle mat is easy handling, allowing cutting into any desired shape and form. It is used as automotive and motorcycle pipe exhaust, insulation pipe for petrochemical, insulation jacket, energy saving industries, etc.

How can I use temp mat?

Westcoast Specialty Products TEMP MAT is composed of 100% select-grade type “E” glass fibers needled together into blanket form. It is incombustible, asbestos free and contains no resinous or inorganic binders. Westcoast Specialty Products TEMP MAT can be used on equipment operating at temperatures up to 1200°F and will not deteriorate or shake apart in vibrating applications. Conforms to Military Specification Mil-I-16411, Mil-I-24244, ASTM E-84. Smoke -O, Flame -O NRC-1.36.
